“My mission is to preserve and promote the art of couture sewing and design. I want to pass these skills on to younger generations.”
The Maryland Center of Fashion Design is the only dedicated couture design school in the Baltimore region. Through a variety of classes, students learn the skills of couture design and creation and the intricacies of couture’s delicate sewing techniques, mastered across Ella’s lifetime of work.
Classes cover the full scope of fashion including sketching and measurements to sewing and pattern making. Each session is dedicated to a specific skill level and designed for anyone with an interest in fashion and design, regardless of skill level. Along the way you’ll learn professional shortcuts and tricks of the trade that only decades of experience can offer.
Even if you’ve never picked up a needle and thread or sketched anything more than a doodle, the Maryland Center of Fashion Design can take your fashion dreams to the runways of reality.
