Self Care Sunday 10
Did you know that your sense of smell is the sense most closely linked with our memories? It’s absolutely fascinating how one particular smell can remind us of being carried to the car after a long day of playing with our childhood friends, or the 7th grade dance, or that one summer we spent at Grandma’s house.
Smells and scents can play a huge part in our lives without us even realizing it! Did you know that scents can also be used to heal? This week’s #SelfCareSunday tip is…
Aromatherapy is a wonderful way to relax and unwind, and can also be used to help you feel better when you’re feeling sick! Ella Pritsker shared with us this heartwarming story of being sick but not wanting to miss her vacation, and how aromatherapy helped her heal:
“I was so sick with the flu, but I was supposed to go to Nemacolin (Woodlands Resort) the very next day! I went to Facebook and asked everyone what I should do to feel better by the next day. There were over 100 comments of people giving me advice and various remedies! I ended up concocting my own little regimen; something for each of my symptoms. When I checked in to Nemacolin still feeling under the weather, I found out that they were doing “random acts of kindness” for their guests that month and I just so happened to be a recipient. When I got to my room there were various essential oils and humidifier all set up for me! I felt so well taken care of, and the aromatherapy truly helped me feel better.”
A special thank you to Nemacolin Woodlands Resort for taking care of our dear Ella Pritsker! Below we have listed some popular aromatherapy scents and their benefits:
